Collection of Jamie’s Songs

Jamie wrote a few songs in the years before Eliana and Gilia were born. : ) In fact, he used to perform at all sorts of places…. even recorded several albums. However, even before the changes of parenthood, Jamie became disillusioned with the music industry and left these pursuits to work with kids… and just play songs for these appreciative audiences. However, many stand-alone pieces of music remain. Hopefully, these seeds can grow… providing others a sense of direction… or comfort in difficult times.

Under the “Projects” tab, there is a complete musical entitled “Remember” (the script and soundtrack). Churches or other organizations can consider how the production might serve their members and outreach ministries. As for the songs below, Jamie encourages any listener to take up any of these songs and run with them…: in performances, in re-arrangements, and even re-recording! There are surely lots of folks who can sing and play better than Jamie.

In the recording sessions that yielded these songs, Jamie had lots of friends contributing their vocal and instrumental talents… delivering performances far better than his. These people include (in no particular order and surely with many omissions) Arturo, Ami, Debbie, Rob, Jerry, Barry, Janene, Billie, Steve, Ginni, Schwayn, Sheila, Julie, Mickey, Nancy, Donnie, Belmont College music students, kids who attended PAL, youth from camps and churches, and many others. Some of the songs are produced better than others; however, the essence of music is beyond particular performances; please reach for this core essence.

The first song below (Ask) is sung by “the good doctor,” Warren Ringsdorf, a wonderful musician and even better friend. Today, many of us are missing our dear friend… but we look forward to that day when we will sing with him again. The song “To Annie” is in memory of Annie Wheeler, an 11-year-old who profoundly inspired Jamie’s life… and the lives of many others. “For such is the Kingdom of Heaven…”

Shalom and Shalom!
